(1) Water treatment: Ferrous sulfate is used for flocculating and purifying water, and removing phosphate from urban and industrial sewage to prevent eutrophication of water bodies.

(2) Reducing agent: A large amount of ferrous sulfate is used as reducing agent, which mainly reduces chromate in cement.

(3) Colorant: The production of a tannic acid inks and other inks requires ferrous sulfate. Ferrous dye is also used in wood dyed mordant. B and ferrous sulfate can be used to stain the concrete into yellow rust. C and woodworking ferrous sulphate make the maple dye silver color.

(4) Analytical Chemistry: Ferrous sulfate can be used as a reagent for chromatographic analysis.
